SVG Preview Issue in Explorer
After releasing PhoXoSee v1.5, I ran into a tiny issue. Minimalist design is all the rage these days, and many SVG icons are now either pure white or pure black. Looks clean — until you try to preview them in Windows Explorer.
In light mode, those white icons completely vanish into the background. Switch to dark mode, and the black ones disappear too. It’s like playing hide-and-seek in Windows Explorer.
So, I asked ChatGPT for help — and it came through with a surprisingly elegant fix: Just calculate the average luminance of the image. If it’s too bright (> 230) or too dark (< 30), gently apply a background color to improve visibility.
It even picked the background colors for me. Thoughtful, right?
At that point, I felt more like a code delivery guy — just copying and pasting the AI’s suggestion into my project. 😄
The results? Much better!
I’ve already pushed the fix to GitHub, and it’ll officially go out with v1.6.
